Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 September 2026 · Effective: 8 September 2026
In short
- We never learn who you are. We run no server and have no database. There is no account and no sign-in, and we ask you for no personal information at any point.
- Your scores and settings stay on your phone. We cannot read them.
- Three things do leave your phone. Tetrofall shows ads through Google AdMob, which collects data from your device to choose and measure those ads. It reports anonymous gameplay statistics to GameAnalytics, so we can see how the game is actually played. And it reports a handful of milestones to Google Analytics for Firebase, so we can tell which of our own adverts brought in players who stayed. None of them goes to a server of ours, and exactly what each collects is listed below.
- You can switch off personalized ads from inside the game, wherever you live, under Settings → Privacy & Legal → Personalised ads. See Your Choices.
- The gameplay statistics are about the game, not about you. They record things like how long a game lasted and how many rows it cleared. They carry no name, no email and no account, and nothing in them is used to build a profile of you or to target ads. There is no crash reporting.
NoSleep Studios ("we," "us," or "our"), developer of Tetrofall, respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Tetrofall mobile game ("the App") collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
We do not ask you for any personal information. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server we control that stores anything about you. Your high score and settings are saved on your device, and we cannot read them.
The App permits Android Auto Backup, so those same settings may be copied to your own Google Drive backup and restored if you set up a new device. That backup belongs to your Google account, does not count against its storage, and is encrypted; we have no access to it. You can turn it off in Android Settings → Google → Backup.
The first thing that does leave your device is advertising data, collected by Google AdMob when it serves an ad:
- Advertising ID (AAID)
- The resettable identifier Android provides for advertising. Google AdMob uses it to select and measure ads and to limit how often you see the same one. This is shared with Google as an advertising partner.
- Device information
- Device model, operating system version and language settings, used by the ad SDK to serve an ad that fits your screen and locale.
- Approximate location
- Derived by Google from your IP address, at roughly city level. The App never requests or receives precise or GPS location, and it holds no location permission.
- App Set ID
- An identifier that lets Google relate apps from the same developer on your device. It cannot be used to identify you personally.
- App interactions
- In-app events reported to the ad SDK, such as an ad being shown, viewed or tapped.
- Diagnostics
- Technical information about how the ad SDK is performing, used for reliability and fraud prevention.
All of the above is collected by, and shared with, Google, and is used for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. It is encrypted in transit using TLS.
The second is gameplay statistics, reported to GameAnalytics. These describe what happened in the game, not who was holding the phone:
- Gameplay events
- In-app events such as a game starting and ending, the score and length it reached, rows cleared, whether the tutorial was finished, which settings were changed, and whether an ad was watched for an extra life.
- Device information
- Device model, operating system version, language and the version of the App, so a problem can be traced to the devices it affects.
- Approximate location
- Country, derived by GameAnalytics from your IP address. The App never requests or receives precise or GPS location, and it holds no location permission.
- A random installation identifier
- A random identifier generated for this installation of the App, used only to tell one player's games apart from another's in the statistics. It is not your Advertising ID, it is not shared with our advertising partner, and it disappears when you uninstall the App.
We see this only as charts and totals on GameAnalytics' dashboard. It is never used to identify you, is never combined with the advertising data above, and is not sold or shared with anyone else. It is encrypted in transit using TLS.
The third is advertising measurement, reported to Google Analytics for Firebase. This exists so that we can tell whether an advert we paid for brought in a player who actually enjoyed the game, and it is deliberately a much shorter list than the one above:
- A fixed set of milestones
- The App being opened for the first time, a session starting, the tutorial being started and finished, a game beginning and ending, and the score and difficulty step it reached. Nothing else about how you play is reported here.
- Advertising ID (AAID) and App Instance ID
- Used to connect an install back to the advert that led to it. Only where you have allowed it — see Consent below. Until you have answered the consent form the advertising signals are switched off, and turning off personalised ads in Settings switches personalisation off here too.
- Device information
- Device model, operating system version, language and the version of the App.
- Approximate location
- Derived by Google from your IP address, at roughly city level. The App never requests or receives precise or GPS location, and it holds no location permission.
This is collected by, and shared with, Google, and is used to measure and improve our advertising. It is encrypted in transit using TLS.
We add nothing else on top of these three. The App contains no crash-reporting SDK. NoSleep Studios operates no server of its own and receives no report when the App crashes.
Back to topAdvertising
We use Google AdMob to display ads within the App. Depending on your consent choices and the laws that apply to you, ads may be personalized (based on your interests and activity) or non-personalized. Non-personalized ads still use the Advertising ID for frequency capping and fraud prevention.
You can turn personalization off at any time, wherever you live, with the Personalised ads switch in Settings → Privacy & Legal. Turning it off applies straight away: the App discards any ad it had already loaded rather than showing you a personalized one after you asked it not to. It stays off until you turn it back on. See Your Choices for the full list of controls.
Google's handling of the data it collects through AdMob is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Back to topConsent
Where required by law, including under GDPR in the EEA/UK and applicable US state privacy laws, we use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to present a consent form before any personalized advertising takes place.
You can change or withdraw that choice at any time from Settings → Privacy Settings inside the App, which re-opens the same consent form. That row appears where a consent choice applies to you; if your region has no consent requirement, there is no form to show. Withdrawing consent takes effect immediately: ads the App had already loaded under your previous answer are discarded rather than shown.
Because that form only exists where a law requires one, the App also carries a Personalised ads switch in Settings → Privacy & Legal that everyone has, everywhere. Where a consent form does apply to you, the form is still the gate: the switch can only narrow what you allowed there, never widen it.
Back to topAnalytics
We use GameAnalytics to understand how Tetrofall is played — how long a typical game lasts, where the difficulty curve loses people, whether the tutorial does its job. Without it we would be guessing at every balance decision.
What is reported is described under Information We Collect. It is tied to a random per-installation identifier rather than to you, it is not used for advertising or profiling, and it is not sold or shared onward. GameAnalytics' handling of it is described in their privacy policy.
We also use Google Analytics for Firebase, for a different and much narrower purpose: measuring how well our own advertising works. It reports a small, fixed set of milestones — the App being opened for the first time, the tutorial being started and finished, a game beginning and ending, and the score it reached — so that we can tell which adverts bring in players who actually enjoy the game. It records no gameplay detail beyond that.
Firebase can associate those milestones with your device's advertising identifier. It only does so where you have allowed it: the consent choice described under Consent governs Firebase exactly as it governs advertising, and until you have made that choice the advertising signals stay switched off. Turning off personalised ads in Settings turns off personalisation here too. Google's handling of the data is described in their privacy policy.
Uninstalling the App stops both services reporting and ends the link to those identifiers; a reinstall is counted as a new player.
Back to topThird-Party Services
- Google AdMob
- Ad serving and measurement.
- GameAnalytics
- Anonymous gameplay statistics.
- Google Analytics for Firebase
- Measuring the effectiveness of our own advertising.
- Google Play Services
- Core platform services the App relies on when installed from Google Play.
These services have their own privacy policies governing how they handle data; we encourage you to review them.
Back to topYour Choices
You can:
- Turn off ad personalization from the Personalised ads switch in Settings → Privacy & Legal in the App. This one is available to every player in every region. Ads keep appearing, but they are no longer chosen from your interests or activity.
- Accept, decline or later withdraw consent for personalized ads from Settings → Privacy Settings in the App, where a consent form applies to you.
- Reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads, which breaks the link to any advertising profile built from it.
- Stop the gameplay statistics by uninstalling the App. Because they are tied to a random per-installation identifier rather than to you, uninstalling both ends the reporting and breaks the link to everything already reported.
- Delete what the App has stored by uninstalling it. If Android Auto Backup is on, also delete the App's backup from Google Drive → Manage backups, or a reinstall will restore your old settings.
- Email us to request deletion of any data held by us. Because we operate no server and hold no account, such a request is normally answered by directing you to the two steps above; we will confirm in writing within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
